About time

At last, some sense in the mobile telecommunications industry; the US government has ruled it illegal to unlock a mobile handset outside contract.

I like a good hack as much as the next person, but unlocks outside contract are where I lose patience.  People expect to be virtually given a smartphone with a value of well over a grand, and then expect to be able to unlock it and stiff the host carrier for the cost.  Sorry, but the industry works on simple economics, and that doesn’t include funding your theft of hardware.

If you can’t afford the contract, then do without the fucking thing.  It’s as simple as that.  No, your pitiful little inconsequential life won’t end if you can’t update your fucking facebook account every five minutes.
